Infant and Child CPR and Choking


Class time: Approximately 2-3 hours

This class is not over until every participant is comfortable performing the techniques learned.

Description: This class is based on the American Heart Association Family & Friends Guidelines.  By the end of the class, you will:

  • Recognize the need for infant and child CPR
  • Understand the common reasons an infant or child would stop breathing or become unresponsive
  • Know the CAB's of Infant & Child CPR
  • Know the symptoms of mild and severe choking in an infant and child
  • Know choking maneuvers for an infant and child
  • Know when to call for help
  • Know what to do for a pregnant woman choking
  • You're pregnant...how to save a choking child without hurting yourself
  • Know how to take care of yourself if you're alone and choking
  • Know adult CPR and compressions only CPR (Does not include hands-on practice)
  • Understand what an AED is and how to use it
  • Better understand SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) and the precautionary steps you can take for your child's safety.

This class is a must for expectant parents, parents, family members, babysitters, nannies and anyone taking care of infants and children.

This class primarily covers and includes hands-on practice on infants and children mannequins.

First Aid For Children

 


Class time: Approximately 90 minutes.

Description:

We will discuss common medical, surgical and environmental emergencies including the following:


Allergic reactions
Anaphylaxis
Breathing problems

Bleeding

Broken bones
Burns
Cuts
Choking infant
Choking child

Concussion
Electrocution
Eye injuries
Fevers
Frostbite
Head injuries
Mouth injuries
Poisoning

Sprains
Sunburn
Tick bites
Tooth injuries
Vomiting


There will be some hands-on training.

We will also review the contents of a well stocked First Aid kit, Epi pen use and when and how to call for help.

This class is a must for parents, family members, babysitters, nannies and anyone else taking care of infants and children. It teaches emergency care so they can instantly react when faced with life-saving decisions to protect and keep a child safe.

Baby Zone & Beyond “CPR” party


Class time: Varies

Get your friends, family, babysitters, nannies, mommy groups together and host an in-home training workshop. This class can be up to 12 participants, and for groups of 8 the host will receive a free copy of "Saving Baby's Life...When Every Second Counts"!

Certification classes

 

American Heart Association (AHA) Heartsaver CPR

This course is for lay-people who need CPR certification to fulfill a job requirement: daycare workers, coaches, personal trainers, private babysitters, nannies, home care workers and medical assistants. 

Course choices:

Adult/Child CPR $60.00 per person 

Adult/Child/Infant CPR $65.00 per person

Each course includes a practical hands-on training on mannequins.

Card is valid for two years.

Add $10.00 for card.


American Heart Association  (AHA) Heartsaver with AED

This course is for lay-people who need certification and (AED) Automated External Defibrillator certification to fulfill a job requirement: teachers, personal trainers, health education teachers or any person who needs AED training.

Course choices:

Adult/Child CPR with AED $65.00 per person

Adult/Child/Infant CPR with AED $70.00 per person

Each course includes a practical hands-on training on mannequins and hands-on training on the AED.

Card is valid for two years.

Infant Massage


Class time: 90 minutes

Description: Bring your baby and do hands-on massage for complete relaxation, improved sleep patterns, release of tension for parent and baby, relief of baby's gas and constipation, regulation of body systems and increased parenting confidence.

This class is ideal for babies from three weeks to six months.

Pool Party with a safety twist..the first party you should have this summer..


Class time: 2 hours

Description: By the end of the training you will:

  • Know how to do perform Infant & Child CPR
  • Know how to do the Infant & Child Choking maneuver
  • Know when to call 911
  • Better understand water safety
  • Learn about Dry Drowning
  • Recognize the need for and know how to use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator)

Gather your family, friends, babysitters, nannies and anyone watching your children near water for this all important life-saving training.  We will come to your pool or home.
